Johan de Wet is counsel in Cadwalader’s Fund Finance practice. Johan’s practice focuses on fund-level financings and bespoke fund finance adjacent solutions. He represents many of the largest and most prominent lenders in the fund finance industry in structuring, negotiating, documenting and syndicating multi-jurisdictional and multi-currency subscription facilities, hybrid facilities, umbrella facilities, open-end fund facilities, HNW facilities and other nontraditional facilities and asset-level lending arrangements. He regularly advises banks and other financial institutions on large and complex syndicated financings to funds managed by some of the world’s preeminent fund sponsors.

Johan is recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for his work in Banking and Finance Law and is a regular contributor to Cadwalader's weekly newsletter, Fund Finance Friday. Prior to joining Cadwalader, he was a senior associate in the banking and finance practice at Bowmans, one of the largest law firms in Africa. 

He received his LL.M. from Georgetown University and holds bachelor degrees in law and financial accounting from the University of Stellenbosch and a post-graduate degree in management account from the University of South Africa. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York and District of Columbia.
