Turning Crisis into Strategy: Contracts, projects and disputes at a global chokepoint
While digital regulation continues to expand at home, data protection rules also are rapidly developing across the pond. The U.S. privacy landscape now is characterized by a “patchwork” of baseline data protection laws in many states, new technology and sector specific laws and regulation, increasing enforcement at the state and federal levels, and shifting approaches by policymakers. EU companies delivering products and services in the U.S. no longer can assume GDPR compliance programs satisfy the nuances of U.S. legal requirements. GDPR companies with mature privacy compliance programs must adapt or reframe their compliance approaches to be effective across borders. The program will feature an update on U.S. legal and regulatory developments relevant to GDPR companies and a practical discussion with a Global Chief Privacy Officer on compliance across borders. After the program, attendees are invited for a networking reception with drinks and bites.
