Bill White is a counsel in Cadwalader’s Corporate Group, with a focus on environmental law.

Bill has experience advising clients on dealing with environmental risks arising in corporate and financing transactions. He has represented clients on environmental and public lands matters, and financial institutions in regulatory matters and internal investigations.

Bill is a former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) senior executive service manager responsible for Superfund enforcement in all 10 EPA regions. Bill engaged for EPA with the Department of Justice, other federal agencies, the White House and Congress on Superfund enforcement reforms and statutory reauthorization during the first Bush and the Clinton administrations.

Bill received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he was an editor of the Wisconsin Law Review, a member of the Order of the Coif, and was awarded the Samuel Grady prize for the graduating student with the highest GPA. He received a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin.
